Sea Dreams Breakfast Smoothie

Sea-Dreams-Breakfast-Smoothie

This is my go-to smoothie inspired by one of my favorite natural foods stores. Blue spirulina is a blue algae supplement that contains protein, amino acids and essential fatty acids. I like to add chia seeds for some omega-3’s.You can find it at any natural foods store and usually in the bulk herbs section. I use organic, non-gmo soy milk because of the protein, but you can also use almond, cashew or oat milk. This smoothie is a filling breakfast that is nutrient dense.

Ingredients

Serves 1

  • I cup unsweetened soy, almond, cashew or oat milk

  • 1/2 frozen banana

  • 1 tsp chia seeds

  • 1 tsp vanilla extract or vanilla bean

  • 1/4 cup coconut water

  • 1/4 cup unsweetened coconut yogurt

  • 1 tbsp maple syrup (optional if you like a little sweetness)

Add all ingredients to a VitaMix or high power blender and blend until smooth.  Drink cold.
